Course Description

Participants who attend the entire program and pass the assessments in the course will be awarded the Transport Energy Auditing Certificate.

The Transport Energy Auditing Certificate Training Program is a two-day course aimed at experienced and qualified energy auditors seeking to include transport in their energy audits and management services. Experienced CEMs and CEA qualified auditors are the target audience.

The aim is to help you help your customers improve the performance of their transport fleets and where applicable understand how to engage outsourced transport suppliers. That is reduce their Scope Carbon Emissions and make a start on reporting their Scope 3 transport emissions.

Overview

Transport is a large GHG emitter and cost center for businesses worldwide, with recent oil price increases adding to a sector where energy can comprise 20-40% of operational costs.

Passenger and freight volumes are expected to grow across every transport mode and sector 2015 to 205, with freight volumes expected to grow 230% (ITF).

With the recast EU Energy Efficiency Directive (2024), the UN and the US Government all seeking ways to reduce GHG emissions, including transport in your energy audit scope will help you identify new opportunities for energy savings that can be delivered quickly – usually without the lead times associated with engineering and construction projects.

This practical course from the convener of EN16247-4:2014, the first European energy audit standard for transport, takes a pragmatic approach to delivering measurable energy and emissions reductions in transport operations with reference to North American, Australian best practice as well as a library of tools and examples.

Lessons learnt from the author’s 17 years of experience in persuading operators to deliver measured energy savings in transport are interwoven with tools, tips and shortcuts to help certified energy managers and auditors deliver effective transport energy audits, that identify opportunities, prompting action, measured savings and, most importantly, being invited back!
