Renewable Energy Hot Topics Online Training Program (non-certification course)

$750.00

*Please note, for all certification preparation training programs, an additional fee is due when submitting your certification application to take the exam.

About this Program

This training program is designed to delve quickly into the technical and financial benefits of renewable energy systems from an unbiased viewpoint. The instructor will introduce the critical fundamentals of energy and the energy grid before comparing and contrasting available technologies and then highlighting some of the more cutting-edge, and yet unproven, renewable energy systems.  Learn in context to some of the more recent and notable renewable projects in the world. Benefit and understand the lessons learned on these projects to avoid pitfalls when designing and specifying your renewable energy systems.

You will also use case analysis to assess the performance of renewable energy systems based on physics and engineering equations that correlate physical parameters to power and energy output, for example, in wind turbines. These equations serve as tools in design, analysis, suitable location selection, and application of wind turbines.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Perform technical/engineering and cost comparisons between energy obtained from the grid versus the energy harnessed from renewable sources.
  • Specify and implement renewable energy systems that leverage the direct application of renewable energy sources to the point of use, thus maximizing the efficiency and net benefit of renewable energy systems.
  • Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of major renewable energy technologies like hydroelectric, tidal, wave, wind, geothermal, solar heat, solar light, solar PV, solar chimney, and biomass using technical, physical and engineering principles
  • Identify unbiased and reliable technical and commercial information sources in the renewable energy arena; thus, staying abreast of progress and current data in the renewable energy realm, beyond this program.
  • Discuss how to apply what you have learned to your business and applications.

Duration

This program is held over three days.
