About this Program
Many industry experts consider microgrids to embody the future of electrical energy delivery systems. They are being implemented globally at an increasing rate, and the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that to achieve a goal of universal access to electricity, most rural areas that currently lack access will need to be connected using mini-grid or off-grid solutions. Other locations, such as urban areas will deploy microgrids in the future to achieve cost reduction, energy resiliency, and to incorporate electrical generation using alternative energy.
Microgrids, when configured correctly, offer sustainable solutions to meet energy resiliency needs. This online training program will provide an in-depth overview of microgrid applications, technologies, and configuration, as well as examples and virtual tours of operational microgrids, and detailed background information into the state of microgrid development.
