This popular two-day program is designed to update current global Certified Energy Managers (CEM) on the most current energy-related trends, strategies, best practices, technologies, and regulations. If you are an existing CEM that needs a refresher, or a lapsed CEM that needs AEE credits to get re-certified, this course is a great place to start.

The Annual Update seminar offers valuable networking opportunities in a highly engaging learning environment. All attendees are CEM graduates, which elevates the interactions between attendees and enhances networking opportunities.

Can't attend the live event? Register anyway. All registered participants will receive access to the recordings,  which can be accessed up to six months after the seminar.

Bonus 1

Early registrants will be invited to two extra 1-hour sessions with Dr. Eric Woodroof on a Mastermind Coaching Call.  These two special one-hour sessions will be held 1 month and 2 months following the course to help you make progress and get additional questions answered. AEE is committed to supporting this elite group to succeed, even beyond the two-day course!

Attendees of each bonus Coaching / Q&A session will earn an additional .1 CEU |  1 PDH | .2 AEE Credits* per session.

Virtual Classroom Experience

Each participant will receive electronic access to the 2021 Annual Update for CEMs Training Manual 1-week prior to the start of the course. 

What You Need To Attend Virtually

  • Webcam (Required)
  • Microphone & Speakers/Headphones OR Headset.
  • Online Broadband (non-secured) bandwidth of 3 Mbps. A wired connection is highly recommended.

Recorded Sessions

The live virtual sessions will be recorded. Attendees will have on-demand access to the live session recordings for 6 months following the virtual event. All registered attendees will receive access to session recordings 1 week following the live sessions.

          Non-Certification Program

          An exam is not administered during this program and the program does not provide an AEE certification. Attendees with lapsed CEM certifications may contact AEE to find out how to renew their CEM certification.


            This course is designed to help CEMs, including energy managers, energy engineers, facility and business managers, industrial engineers, supply chain professionals, utility officials, consultants, contractors, financial officers, and energy service company professionals become more aware of and effective at identifying and implementing the best energy management strategies.
