About this Program

The Certified Carbon Auditing Professional (CAP®) Training Program is designed to provide recognition for professionals who have distinguished themselves as leaders in the growing field of carbon reduction.

This CAP® course is designed to provide comprehensive training in the critical areas of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, carbon reduction and associated reporting.

The focused, fast-paced program is presented over 2 days and is intended both to expand your knowledge in the carbon management field and to serve as a preparatory vehicle for the exam which is required to achieve the AEE’s CAP® certification. The examination is taken on the 3rd day and is voluntary.

Concepts that will be presented include carbon auditing; emissions reporting and verification; emissions conversions; renewable energy sources and green power; energy efficiency technologies; fleet management; emissions trading; recycling and water; financing and marketing to maximize project success, and much more.

Registration for In-Person Attendance ends 7 days before the event start date.

In-Person Classroom Experience

Travel to the training location and join your cohorts in a state of the art learning center. You benefit from being away from the office, daily interruptions, and direct face-to-face interaction with your fellow attendees and instructors.

In-person* seats are limited to follow social distancing guidelines. Early registration is highly recommended to reserve an in-person seat.

The health and well-being of our attendees and instructors is our top priority. In-person attendees can be assured AEE and the training facility adhere to the CDC's recommendations for social distancing and safety measures.

All registration and course materials will be given to attendees at sign-in on day 1 at the seminar location. Workbooks will not be pre-shipped to in-person attendees.

Educational Credits

You earn 1.6 CEU | 16 PDH | 3.2 AEE Credits for completing this program.

Certification Program

The Certified Carbon Auditing Professional® (CAP®) exam is administered the day after this program. Please review the requirements for certification here. A separate certification and application fee applies.

Attendees can select one of two options to apply for the certification and sit the CAP® exam.

To take the exam in conjunction with this training program. The exam is administered on the day after the training program.
Alternatively, the attendee can choose to schedule and take the exam online through remote proctoring.

Obtaining AEE’s CAP® certification provides international credibility among energy management, sustainable and clean energy communities.
