Introduction

This training program is designed to provide non-electrical engineers with a clear understanding of electrical engineering in a simple, easy to understand format. Over two days, our professional instructor, and author of the book on the subject, will help you achieve a working knowledge of the essential aspects of electrical engineering, as well as the principles and practices of greatest relevance and practical value.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to perform straight-forward calculations associated with voltage, current, power and power factor.
  • Learn the fundamentals of many electrical power distribution systems, control systems and their components, such as motors, generators, variable frequency drives, programmable logic controllers, and smart motor controllers.
  • Work through practical examples of electrical applications in industrial settings to demonstrate the topics and procedures covered
  • Learn about important concepts in electrical safety
  • Discuss how to apply what you have learned to your business and applications.

Non-certification Program

An exam is not administered during this program and the program does not provide an AEE certification.

Instructor Bobby Rauf PE, CEM, MBA

Bobby currently serves as president, chief consultant and senior instructor at Sem-Train, LLC. He brings to this program more than 25 years' hands-on experience in a broad spectrum of areas within large industrial plant engineering and plant maintenance departments, including electrical, controls, energy and mechanical projects. Mr. Rauf previously served as a senior staff engineer at PPG Industries, Inc., and has also served as adjunct professor at Gardner-Webb University since 1989, where he has instructed classes in both the B.A. and M.B.A. programs. His teaching experience also includes conducting professional development, FE and PE Exam preparation courses through universities and other institutions. He has published multiple books and holds a process controls-related patent.

When held in conjunction with AEE West, this training program will be held in the Santa Clara Convention Center located at 5001 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, CA 95054.

When held in conjunction with AEE World, this training program will be held in the Walter E. Washington Convention Center located at 801 Mt. Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC.
